• Contact the post office
and have your mail forwarded to your temporary corporate housing
location.

Stop newspapers. Suspend magazine subscriptions or have them
forwarded to your new corporate suite.
• Notify neighbors of your travel plans. Supply them
with a contact number for yourself or a local relative.
• Leave house key and trip itinerary with friends or
family.
• Arrange for the care of your pets if you're not taking
them.
• Reserve a rental car for your new location.
• Arrange for the care of your landscaping and house
plants.
• Eliminate possible fire hazards at home (unplug appliances,
etc).
• Lock all doors and windows. Turn down the thermostat.
Turn off the water heater.
• Store valuables in a safe place.
• Empty refrigerator of perishables.
• Notify insurance companies, accountants, atttornies
of your move.
• Set up timers on the lighting in your house.
• Ask a neighbor or relative to keep an eye on your home.
• Make your home appear lived in. Any activity at your
home will make it seem as if someone is home.
